Education and Technology Assignments

The assignments are creative and time consuming, but I am learning a lot in the process.  This will benefit me and my future students.

Should Students Play Games (software) in school?

Students should be allowed to play games in the classroom when it is engaging, ongoing interaction, and when it provides immediate feedback with the results of student learning.  There are so many software programs that are out there.  It is important that educators take the time to plan well before they introduce anything to the students..  If the games keep the students motivated, engaged, and can help reach all learners in the classroom, then it sounds great!  We just have to be careful as educators how we use this tool.

Using Technology in the classroom

Hello, I am an elementary teacher.  I have been in the classroom for about 15 years.  I truly believe that technology in the classroom keeps the interest of students and prepare them for real world opportunities that will be available to them.  Technology allow students to have more interactive learning.  Our students have become bored with the standard paper pencil assignments.  Students are more engaged in lessons that makes them think and involve technology.  I have seen smart board lessons keep the whole class actively engaged in a lesson.  As educators we have to give meaningful assignments that make our students think and allow creativity.
